Drop off your Huntrix and your Saja boys at Storybook Yoga for an interactive story-based yoga class that‘s been designed just for our SECPTA kids to dance, yoga, craft, and play to all things KPop Demon Hunters! Each class incorporates common yoga poses and movement into a fun story, fostering creative thinking, and a love for reading. The session includes crafts, which coordinate with the theme. Yoga mats are provided. Please dress comfortably and bring water! For this drop-off class, three year-olds must be fully potty-trained and able to separate from their parent. Older children are welcome at this mixed-age and -experience level class. After yoga and crafting, kids will enjoy free-play with all Ms. Julie‘s awesome toys and/or free crafting time! Please note, this is a 2-hour drop off event, so get some grocery shopping done, go pick up dinner, or treat yourself to a coffee while your kids have fun!

Many schools are off for President‘s Day so send your big kids to a mini art camp to create their very own picture book! Students will look at picture books for inspiration, then design and illustrate an original book of their own. The book can tell a story, feature a character, or include poems. Using colored pencils, markers, and tempera paint, students will bring their ideas to life through pictures, words, or both. This class is all about imagination and creative expression! VAC is requesting that one parent volunteer to stay and assist during the workshop. Please contact Kate at fieldtrips@secpta.net if you are willing to help out! Ages: 6-11 years.

It‘s Lunar New Year and the big kids are off school! Join us for a three hour program at the Farm Park during which we will learn how farmers grow pizza! We will engage in a farm-wide hunt to investigate pizza making from field to table and uncover the sources of ingredients in this delicious food. This program includes pizza making and sampling. Pack a lunch and stick around to enjoy the indoor playground! This event is not included in Farm Park memberships, so you would need to register through SECPTA even if you are a member. Tap into some sweet family fun at the Farm Park as you discover the history and science behind the production of pure maple syrup while witnessing each step in the process firsthand. Take a wagon ride to the Woodland Center to see how sap is collected, boiled and processed using both traditional and modern methods. Venture out to the woods to explore the sugarbush, where you can collect sap from maple trees and pour it into a horse-drawn sled. Discover how to make maple syrup at home and see the fascinating process of collecting sap through a vacuum tubing system. Go from tap to table by sampling freshly produced maple syrup, candy and maple stirs (additional fee) and enjoying a pancake breakfast in the cafe (additional fee) or a pony ride (additional fee). Farmpark’s own pure maple syrup and maple candy will also be available for sale. No refunds will be given for no-shows, but you will be able to come at anytime while the Farm Park is open that day 9AM-4PM by giving your name at the admission desk.
