Let‘s visit a local apple orchard and welcome in October! The tour will include a walk through the orchards to show everyone the operations of the farm and will finish with an apple-themed story. You might even get the chance to learn how to properly pick your own apple straight from an apple farmer! Afterwards you are welcome to stay and pick apples on your own, play on the playground, or enjoy the market and pumpkin patch.

During Apple Butter and Cider Weekend, witness many traditional harvest activities and discover how apple butter and cider are made. Take a tour of the “Johnny Appleseed Trail.” The whole family can explore our three-acre corn maze. Enjoy harvest activities including an apple-themed cooking demonstration on Sunday only. 10:00 AM - 11:00 PM Arrival time (I will meet with tickets, or give tickets in advance) Families can stay through close at 5:00 PM

Let’s watch and listen to the Solon High School Marching Band. Bring along some instruments and play along with the band. Children may even have an opportunity to check out the band up close and march! We will meet in field by parking lot by the football stadium behind Solon High School. Join us at the Shaker Lakes Nature Center for a private - Sensing the seasons program. During this program, a Nature Center Educator will introduce Autumn to the group through a short story and then head to the trails to explore using as many senses as possible (usually everything but taste). Simple tools and collecting containers will help us take a closer look at our Autumn surroundings. All programs following Early Learning and Development Standards.

Come have a frightfully good time with other SECPTA couples at this two-for-one haunted party! Plan to get in line together at 7:15, but feel free to come as early as 6:30 pm for "Beer Before Fear" on the midway ($2 drafts). Your ticket will get you into BOTH the schoolhouse and the laboratory. (You will start at the schoolhouse.)

This is a ticketed event and as such can not be refunded.

Come grab a tasty treat with us at Lulu‘s Yogurt with a Twist,Downtown Hudson‘s self-serve frozen yogurt shop. We will start off our trip with a tour of the shop then kids will have the opportunity to make their own fro-yo desserts. They will get to choose their own frozen yogurt flavor (or two!) then add all the toppings they can fit into their bowls at the topping bar. Afterwards, everyone can relax at the shop or bring a blanket to enjoy a fro-yo picnic on the beautiful First & Main Green. Adults may purchase their own treat at the store if they want!

Spend some time learning about fire prevention with an outdoor discussion at the Solon Fire Department! Learn about fire safety from real firefighters and get a close up look at a fire truck. The Natural Classroom is a team of passionate educators committed to delivering high quality outdoor, play-based education to the communities of the Chagrin Valley. Campfire Stories with The Natural Classroom is a family event. Children and their caregivers will join us for an hour of nature immersion. Families will enjoy a hike in the woods, activities and games, oral storytelling, and of course, s‘mores! Please dress appropriately for the weather, we will be outside! A hike will be in the program so keep that in mind for the little ones who may want to be carried, although the program is enjoyable for families of all ages, it will target ages 3 and up.

Music With Corey is a fun, immersive music experience with renowned kids music instructor, Corey J. Feldman. Class will be held through Zoom. You can expect interactive songs about colors, shapes, numbers, animals and much more. We might freeze dance or show and tell, so feel free to bring instruments (or household items that make noise!) and toys. It‘s a party when you join Music With Corey! Siblings are always welcome. SECPTA alum Amanda Bellan is back again this year taking photos at a local area park on Oct 23rd (Oct 24 th rain date). The family fall photo session will be 15 minutes and includes 3 hand edited digital images, additional images will be available for purchase following the session. Dress your little ghosts and goblins in their costumes for a favorite non-scary Halloween event, Boo at the Zoo,presented by Acme Fresh Market. Bring your own bag or bucket to collect treats from 12 themed treat stations located throughout the zoo. Teal Pumpkin Project: non-food items for children with food allergies. Let the volunteers at the treat stations know that you are a Teal Pumpkin participant, and they will have a special treat just for you! EVERYONE requires a ticket - Trick-or-treater:Anyone who wishes to collect treats from each treat stations,regardless of age. Observer: Anyone, including members, visiting the zoo who does not wish to trick-or-treat. Infant: Children under two who will NOT be trick-or-treating DO REQUIRE A TICKET. Tickets will be given out ahead of time so you can attend on that day at your leisure. Parking is $3.00 to be paid at gate.

Activities include a giant covered straw pile, tons of slides, including our slide barn, 50‘ racing slide in the woods, silo slide, pedal tractors, push carts, tire swings, corn maze, sand box, play buildings, wagon rides and much more.
