Snowflakes, sword fights, dancing dolls and a Christmas tree that reaches the sky are just a few of the spectacular theatrical elements you and your family will experience while watching The Nutcracker. Ballet Theatre of Ohio is performing their 29th season of The Nutcracker at the beautiful and historic Civic Theatre in downtown Akron. This event is one for everyone as you watch the lead ballerina, Clara, take you on a magical journey. The show begins at a Christmas party but as the clock strikes midnight and Clara falls asleep, she enters an enchanted world that begins with an epic battle between mice and toy soldiers. This fast-paced scene eventually leads to the Nutcracker Prince sweeping Clara off her feet and taking her through a snowy forest to the Kingdom of Sweets where she meets the Sugar Plum Fairy. It is the perfect show to start or carry on a Holiday tradition with the whole family!
