The Great Lakes Science Center features over 100 hands-on science exhibits including the Polymer Funhouse and Port Polymer indoor and outdoor play spaces designed specifically for children under 7. There is also an infant area for ages 2 and under in the Polymer Funhouse. Price includes general admission for the day. Bring lunch and play for as long as you like! Please arrive as promptly as possible so that the field trip organizer’s children do not run off without her as she waits to hand out wristbands! Children ages 1 and younger are free and do not need to register. *This is a pre-paid event, no refunds will be given for cancellations after May 9 unless another member on the waitlist can take your spot.*

Jump in the bed of the SECPTA truck* as we ride down East Washington Street in Chagrin Falls for their Blossom Time Parade. Adults will be walking and passing out flyers about SECPTA. Children are welcome to ride in the bed of the truck. An adult will be assigned to sit in the back to ensure the safety of our children.

Staging Location: Chagrin Falls High School. Arrive between 12:30pm and 1:15pm. Parade starts at 2pm. We do not have an end time as it‘s a parade.

Ending Location: 21 West Washington Street.
It has been suggested that parade participates park at the ending location and walk to the parade staging area. There is limited parking for vehicles at the staging area.

Bring a game to play and a dish to share and enjoy a relaxed evening of family fun at the library. Older children are welcome to attend and to bring age-appropriate games. Camp Hi Canoe and Kayak Livery

Paddle the Cuyahoga River in the evening ending with a sunset bonfire.

Participants can choose to rent a canoe, single or tandem kayak, OR Stand Up Paddleboard (or have their own boat transported for a fee).

Please contact kate.martin@secpta.net or text 216-645-3312 with any questions or special circumstances.

Small children can ride between a parent‘s legs in a kayak or in the middle of a canoe. We will meet at Camp Hi Canoe & Kayak Livery in Hiram. Our reservation is at 5:00pm but please arrive 15-20 minutes early to pick out life vests and paddles (included) & sign waivers.

We will be taking their ‘Short trip A‘- ~7 miles from 422 south back to Camp Hi. At a slow pace this trip averages 3-4 hours to paddle.

Wear long sleeves/cover your skin and bring bug spray.
Bring drinks & snacks and a dry bag for anything that can‘t get wet.

Celebrate the first day of summer vacation (for some!) with a day at the beach in Bay Village. Bring a swimsuit, a towel, and some sand toys and enjoy a beach with some actual shade! Pack a lunch or buy your lunch (and ice cream!) at the Noshery overlooking the lake. Meet us at the brand new nature playground or on the beach to the right side of the stairs down from the Noshery. Celebrate Dad by spending time together on the rails and trails! We will park at the Botzum Station/Trailhead and bike 9.5 miles to the Boston Mills trailhead (depending on who signs up and whether kids will be riding bikes or in seats/carriers we can adjust to go further or a shorter distance).

Szalay‘s Farmer‘s Market will be open at the 7 mile mark. At the end of our bike ride we will ride the train back to our cars at the Botzum Trailhead/Station. Secpta will pay for your train ticket.

Session #1 is from 9:30am-11am and session #2 is from 11am-12:30pm each day during the week of June 30th (no class on Friday July 4). Camp will focus on a different discipline each day: Art, Dance/Movement, Theater, and Music!

Monday June 30th: DANCE/MOVEMENT - With a focus on rhythmic awareness, active movement and basic coordination, this class for little ones will provide a fun and engaging introduction to movement! Young students explore forms of self-expression and imagination through guided movement, activities and games! Students will improve basic coordination and rhythm while learning to dance.

Tuesday July 1st: ART - Let’s get these little artists being messy and creative. They will express themselves in multimedia projects but also refine fine motor skills such as holding a pencil and cutting.

Wednesday July 2nd: THEATER - This class will introduce your little ones to the stage as we explore the basic fundamentals of theater. Students will play theater games that explore using their voices, bodies and imaginations to create stories and have fun! Students will explore songs, games and more as we play together in the world of Theater.

Thursday July 3rd: MUSIC - instruments, song, and a creative introduction to musical concepts.

Students must be potty trained and between ages 3-7. **This is a ticketed event, no refunds will be given for cancellations unless you are able to find another member who is able to take your place.**

Please note the difference in registration for this event! Members only need to register their children for our summer camps. If you are signing up one kid then register as "Me Only" if you have more than one kid then register as "Me + Guest."

Tuesday July 1st: ART - Let’s get these little artists being messy and creative. They will express themselves in multimedia projects but also refine fine motor skills such as holding a pencil and cutting.

Wednesday July 2nd: THEATER - This class will introduce your little ones to the stage as we explore the basic fundamentals of theater. Students will play theater games that explore using their voices, bodies and imaginations to create stories and have fun! Students will explore songs, games and more as we play together in the world of Theater.

Thursday July 3rd: MUSIC - instruments, song, and a creative introduction to musical concepts.

Students must be potty trained and between ages 3-7. **This is a ticketed event, no refunds will be given for cancellations unless you are able to find another member who is able to take your place.**

Please note the difference in registration for this event! Members only need to register their children for our summer camps. If you are signing up one kid then register as "Me Only" if you have more than one kid then register as "Me + Guest."

In collaboration with Solon Center of the Arts (SCA), we will be offering a summer camp just for SECPTA again this year! Session #1 is from 9:30am-11am and session #2 is from 11am-12:30pm each day during the week of June 30th (no class on Friday July 4). Camp will focus on a different discipline each day: Art, Dance/Movement, Theater, and Music!

Come listen to the Cleveland Orchestra as they underscore Disney‘s 1994 The Lion King movie! In addition to picnic meals and blankets, chairs (preferably short-legged) are welcome on the lawn. Rental chairs are available for $10 per evening and concessions like pizza and hot dogs are available for purchase. *Please note, these tickets can be used for admittance to the lawn on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday for The Lion King or for any other show all season, including Harry Potter and the Sorcerer‘s Stone! Feel free to coordinate with friends to attend the same show or to switch your plans if the weather is not good. Parking will be open at 4PM and gates open at 5PM.
