Join us as we explore all that the Lake Erie Nature and Science Center has to offer with a 30-minute animal program where we will enjoy up-close encounters with the Center’s resident animals. After meeting a bird, a reptile, and a mammal and learning about their unique characteristics, we will head off to the full-dome planetarium for a 30-minute, private SECPTA showing of the night sky! If you care to pack a lunch, join other SECPTA families to further explore the Science Center and the variety of native (and some rarely seen!) Ohio animals and plants, an outdoor wildlife rehabilitation center, and various other hands-on stations where you can learn fun facts about the Earth, solar system, and universe. *This event is limited to 30 people, excluding babies in carriers, per the Center‘s policy.* **This is a prepaid event, no refunds will be given for the new date of March 1 to cancellations unless another member on the waitlist is able to take your spot.**

Join your SECPTA friends for a fun morning building your own butterfly house from scratch at Home Depot! All participating kids will not only get to keep their project, but will also receive a certificate of achievement, a workshop apron, and a commemorative pin. This event is free for everyone, but please register with SECPTA so we know to look for you. You can then also pre-register on the Home Depot website so they can anticipate us, https://www.homedepot.com/c/kids. You may arrive at any time, but supplies are limited and can run out later in the morning, so try to come early. Also, this event is come and go, so please arrive before 10:30am to be sure to catch some of your SECPTA friends before they head out. Kids will do best with one-on-one adult supervision, as they will be using real tools, wood and nails (think hammers), so safety is paramount. Dress for mess as they will have the opportunity to paint their projects, too. Hope to see you there!
