Join us for a Magical Saturday at the Illusion Museum! A fun and playful day out for parents and kids of all ages with mind-bending exhibits, photo ops, and a chance to connect with other families.

Take a break and enjoy group babysitting (SECPTA members only) with PaigeLynn from P‘s Sitting Service and Erica from Childhood FUNdamentals Montessori. Children will have free play outside (if weather permitted) or inside, a snack and dinner, fun craft, and movie during their stay. Ages: 2-10 years. If your child is in diapers, please provide diapers and wipes.

Come join us for some fun in the garden! Kids will be able to dig in the mud pit, cook in the mud kitchen, and explore the rest of the garden. Plan to get dirty and dress for the weather. Ages: 5 years and under.
Let‘s get together for coffee & playtime at the new Ity Bity‘s Playhouse in Avon. We will have a 2 hour time slot for play and treats! Ages: 10 years and under.

Come join SECPTA for a Friendsgiving meal, playtime, and a SECPTA-provided craft for the kids. A signup genius will be sent out for Thanksgiving-themed sides as well as kid-safe fruits, veggies, drinks, & desserts! SECPTA will provide the main dish--turkey and veggie sandwiches! Please email Tara at tara@secpta.net if you have any special dietary needs. Along with a dish, have each kid bring a toy or a game to share with friends while we gather! All ages.
Join us for an indoor open play time at the homeschooling co-op location. Pack and lunch and start off by joining us 12:30pm - 1pm lunch time followed by an hour of free play.
Join us for a service day, painting wood cars and trucks for children‘s hospital! We will be using acrylic paint so dress for a mess. All the cars will be painted and detailed (at a later date). All supplies are provided.
Come explore your Cuyahoga Valley National Park with Rangers and learn about the creatures and plants that live here! Through pond dipping, forest floor exploration, and hiking, children and their caregivers will have fun while learning to care for Mother Earth! Wear layers and closed-toed shoes. (Please note activities are subject to change due to weather / outdoor conditions). Ages: 3-9 years.
Get your preschooler moving, learning, and laughing at the Little Gym of Shaker Heights. Enjoy an hour of parent-child time loosely led by an instructor. The kids will get to run, jump, crawl, twirl, explore different soft obstacles, balancing beams, and maybe a parachute at the end! Ages: 3-5 years.
It‘s a conference day for Solon schools, so bring your big kids and your little ones and come enjoy intriguing aquatic life from the Great Lakes and colorful sea creatures from around the globe at the Greater Cleveland Aquarium. After participating in an interactive reading of the Eric Carle tale A House for Hermit Crab, an Aquarium tour reveals the real-life animals that inspired Carle’s characters. Students join Aquarium educators on a search for the stars of the story. Discover shapes, colors and patterns of aquatic animals, and practice counting along the way. Enhances standards in life science, science inquiry and language arts. Pack a lunch to enjoy with friends after the tour! All ages.
The changing seasons bring new discoveries to explore! Join us on a naturalist-led walk around a stroller-friendly loop at North Chagrin to observe how Ohio’s seasonal cycles affect how plants and animals survive in their habitats. The focus of the program is seasonal changes, habitats, adaptations, observation, and respect for living things. Pack a lunch and after the hike, feel free to join us at the nature center to warm up and enjoy some unstructured play! Children in carriers and strollers do not need to be registered, all children and guests who will be walking need to be registered. *This event is limited to 30 people per the Nature Center‘s request.* All ages.

Join us for a SECPTA Dad‘s Day Out! Enjoy a laid-back afternoon filled with delicious smoked meats and a friendly poker game. It‘s the perfect way to unwind, connect, and enjoy some well-deserved downtime with the guys. Some beverages will be provided, but recommended to BYOB.
$5 BBQ contribution fee helps cover food and supplies.

Silverspot Cinema (at Pinecrest)
Let’s go to the movies! Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere chronicles the conception of Springsteen‘s 1982 album Nebraska, starring Jeremy Allen White as The Boss. Silverspot Cinema has luxury seating and in-theater food and drink service. The exact time will be determined once the theater posts showtimes - something around 7:00 pm. The cost is $12 per movie ticket. Feel free to purchase food and drink on your own. If you have any questions, email adultoutings@secpta.net. Please register at www.secpta.net by November 5. 11/9/2025 (Sunday) The Elite Gymnastics Academy
Join SECPTA at The Elite Gymnastics Academy for an hour of gymnastics games, obstacle courses, and loosely structured instruction on the gymnastics equipment. Coaches will tailor the activities to each child’s age, so the kids will be grouped accordingly. Ages: 18 months - 8 years.
Once a month, join other board game nerds for some uninterrupted game time. Settlers of Catan, 7 wonders, Ticket to Ride, the possibilities are endless. Come and learn a new game or teach us your favorite! Light refreshments will be provided.
*We all deserve to be able to focus on the fun of the game, so, at this time, this will be an adult only club.

Let’s get these little artists being messy and creative. They will express themselves in various projects but also refine fine motor skills such as holding a pencil or cutting. This class is designed for care-givers and children to share this time together. Ages: 3-5 years.

SECPTA is collaborating with Valley Art Center for a one-time painting workshop, during which students will bring fall animals to life in this art class! Kids will create a fox or other animal mask using paper plates and paint then decorate them with details to make each animal unique. By the end of class, every child will have a wearable mask to take home and enjoy, perfect for the cozy autumn season. This is a drop-off event, but VAC has asked that one SECPTA parent stay and volunteer to assist. Please email Kate at fieldtrips@secpta.net if you‘re willing to volunteer! Ages: 5-8 years.
Come join SECPTA for 2 hours of fun at Little Diggers Fairview Park! Open to kids ages 7 and younger. Little Diggers offers a 1,200 sq ft indoor sandbox where children can dig and play with over 200 construction themed toys. 2 adults free with each paid child. Bring a snack or pack a lunch, we‘ve got a party room to hang out in! Ages: 7 years and under.

As we celebrate World Kindness Day (a day early), we will be painting rocks and braiding fleece dog toys.
While this is at the homeschool co-op location, this is open to all SECPTA members to participate in!
Let‘s learn about fire safety from real firefighters and get a close up look at a fire truck! Come visit the Reminderville Fire Department with SECPTA! Kids will enjoy hearing about fire prevention and safe practices from the firefighters and paramedics who serve our communities. They will also have fun exploring the station, emergency vehicles and equipment! Date and time subject to change depending on fire station availability. All ages.
Come join us for a morning of fun with your little. Check out the pretend grocery store and famer‘s market, the lego room, water room and so much more. Feel free to pack a lunch. Please note the museum closes at 1:30 pm. All ages.

The Connor Palace Theater
The SECPTA moms’ musical night returns this year and we are ready to sing along at the new original show that “everyone is losing their head over!” From Tudor Queens to Pop Icons, the SIX wives of Henry VIII take the microphone to remix five hundred years of historical heartbreak into a Euphoric Celebration of 21st century girl power! Please note: this is a ticketed event, no refunds will be given for cancellations unless another member on waitlist is able to purchase the ticket.
Join us for warm coffee, pastries, and cozy fall-themed snacks as we enjoy the crisp autumn air together! We’ll meet at Riverside Park, where the kids can play while we relax and chat.
Note: You can access the park by parking in the lot along E Orange St. You can also park at the library and walk down a short path.
If the weather doesn’t cooperate, we’ll move indoors to the Chagrin Falls Library, where we’ll have a fun Thanksgiving craft for the kids to enjoy.

Join us for a stroller friendly walk on a paved loop at South Chagrin Reservation. We will meet at the Henry Church Rock parking lot. If you enter the park from SOM, follow the road straight down until it dead ends into the parking lot on your right. SECPTA will provide homemade rice crispy treats and cider for the kids and coffee for the caregivers. All ages.
Please join us for a very special author visit by Shaker Heights native Clothilde Ewing. She will be reading from the last book in the Stella and Roger series, which will be released on November 11th. Books will be available for purchase from Fireside Books at the event and Lynn Gaines, the series illustrator, as well as Clothilde will be able to sign books for the children. There will be a reading, a short and engaging presentation, and a Q&A session followed by a craft! Please invite friends and family. You do not have to be a member of SECPTA to attend this event, but we do ask that everyone who plans to attend registers so that we can ensure we have enough capacity. The books are fun and appropriate for pre-K through elementary-aged children (and their grownups too!). Please feel free to stick around for the SECPTA meeting after the reading. As always, dinner and babysitting will be provided, but please consider RSVPing on the Facebook event page if you plan to attend so that we can ensure we have enough for everyone!
All general meetings include complimentary childcare as well as pizza and snacks. This year’s childcare will be provided by the Solon Community Center child care team.

The Cleveland History Center isn’t just about history! Innovations in science and math helped to create many of our artifacts, including the Euclid Beach Park Grand Carousel. Ages 3-5 will search for shapes and practice counting in our transportation collection. Ages 6-8 and 9-12 will learn about the engineering behind cars through hands-on activities. Ages 13+ will learn about the physics behind our Euclid Beach Park Grand Carousel and will design their own carousel. Ages: 3 years+.

Join this group hike led by a Portage Park District Staff member. Junior Ranger Hikes will be about 1 mile in length. Please dress for all types of weather! All ages are welcome to attend however it is suggested for kids ages 5-12 and their families.

Join SECPTA at Kids Empire, a new indoor play place that offers lots of fun for your little ones (and big siblings too)! Socks are required for everyone. 2 adults get in free per 1 child. You can stay until close, but please arrive sometime between 3:15 and 5:30 so the field trip host can check you in! All ages.
We will be meeting at Simin‘s home (email Kate.Breuer@secpta.net for address) and we will be reading The Lion Women of Tehran by Marjan Kamali. As always, feel free to come socialize even if you don’t read the book!

Cross family photos for your holiday cards off your to-do list and sign up today for a mini session with professional photographer Terry Goodman of Platinum Photography. Each family photo session will be 15 minutes and will include at least 15 retouched digital images. Check out samples of Terry‘s work at https://www.platinumphotographyohio.com/family/. The photoshoot will take place at Sugar Pines Tree Farm so check another thing off your to do list and grab a holiday wreath on your way out for those who celebrate!

Drop off your little ones at Storybook Yoga a *three hour* yoga camp with an interactive story-based yoga class that‘s been designed just for our SECPTA kids to celebrate Thanksgiving! Each class incorporates common yoga poses and movement into a fun story, fostering creative thinking, and a love for reading. The session includes an age-appropriate craft, which coordinates with the story. Yoga mats are provided. Please dress comfortably and bring water! For this drop-off class, three year-olds must be fully potty-trained and able to separate from their parent. Older siblings are welcome at this mixed-age and -experience level class. After yoga and crafting, kids will enjoy free-play with all Ms. Julie‘s awesome toys! Please note, this is a 3-hour drop off event, so get some grocery shopping done, go pick up dinner, do some early Thanksgiving prep, or treat yourself to a coffee while your kids have fun! Please note, no refunds will be issued for cancellations made after the Tuesday evening before class, because Ms. Julie will be purchasing craft supplies for our group. Should you have to miss class at the last minute due to illness, you can contact Ms. Julie to receive a credit for a future class or camp at her studio. Ages: 3-10 years (must be potty trained).
Tis the night before Thanksgiving and the City of Solon is kicking off the holiday season with its annual Winter Festival. The event includes activities for kids, ice sculptures, musical and dance performances, refreshments, and an opportunity to visit with Santa Claus! The event concludes with Mayor Kraus lighting the city for the first night of the holiday season! This is a free public event open to the public. All ages.
Join the SECPTA team for an important Cleveland holiday tradition- start Thanksgiving morning out by running in the Turkey Trot, a 5K through the streets of downtown, optionally dressed as a turkey!!
Fitness Club will cover $20 of your race fee (total $35) which includes race entry, finisher medal, long sleeve shirt, chip timing for 5K and 5M race & post-race refreshments as well as category awards, costume contest and searchable race photos!!
